The Heat represented the Eastern Conference in the 2019-20 NBA Finals in the Lake Buena Vista, Fla., bubble and took the Los Angeles Lakers to six games. F Jimmy Butler took his game to a new level to lead a strong group of rising stars with 19.9 points per game while adding 6.7 rebounds per game and 6.0 assists per game.
Miami has also been rumored to be in the running to land Houston Rockets G James Harden in a potential trade. Doing so without completely emptying the bench could help push the Heat over the top, not only in the conference but in a potential playoffs rematch with the Lakers.
The Heat are just fourth by the odds to win the conference and are an excellent value bet.

Indiana follows the same model of consistency as we’re looking at with Miami. Outside of swapping head coach Nate McMillan for Nate Bjorkgren, the Pacers will look much the same for at least the early part of 2020-21.
Seven Pacers players averaged more than 10 points per game last season. They offer a well-balanced attack that many of the top contenders in the Eastern Conference don’t have, and they’re better equipped than most to combat potential injuries and don’t have a glaring weakness within their starting five.
The Eastern Conference is much more top-heavy than the West, but the Hornets are worth some thought for a potential lottery ticket returning a profit of $1,250 on a $10 bet.
After years of the status quo and seeing talent come and go, Charlotte selected PG LaMelo Ball with the No. 3 pick of the 2020 NBA Draft and signed F Gordon Hayward to a four-year deal. The added star power sees both youth and experience come to the rescue of a team without a winning season since 2015-16.
PG Devonte’ Graham and PF P.J. Washington front the young supporting cast. This team will go as far as Ball can take them in his rookie campaign, but a healthy season from Hayward could be the X-factor in a possible charge up the standings.
